The game created by Epic Games includes a first-person shooter and an online multiplayer video game with several game modes such as deathmatch, Team deathmatch, Capture the Flag, Duel which is a one versus one gametype using a queuing system in which the loser goes back to the end of the queue, and Vehicle Capture the Flag. There are also new modes that are not included in the previous versions. These are the Invasion mode, Mutant, Onslaught, Bombing Run, Last Man Standing, Domination, Double Domination and Assault. There is an additional offline single player as well that comes with in-depth story and the player advances from the simple tournament ladder up to vital concepts like team members and personalities.


The Xbox 360 version of Unreal Tournament 3 was released on July 7, 2008.
