Call of Duty: Black Ops TEASER

Call of Duty: Black Ops. And that’s about all we know.

Activision has officially named the next title in the lucrative Call of Duty series. Previously known as Call of Duty 7, the title is now confirmed as Call of Duty: Black Ops. The game is being developed by Santa Monica-based studio Treyarch, responsible for several previous instalments in the military first-person shooter series, including Call of Duty: World at War and Call of Duty 3.

The press announcement provides little extra information, simply promising that Black Ops will, “take players behind enemy lines in an entirely new chapter in the groundbreaking and record-setting, No. 1 first-person action series of all-time.”

For the last few months, news sites have been rife with rumours that the game would be set in Vietnam – and the title announcement does not necessarily contradict that. As the Official Xbox Magazine reported, Treyarch put out a casting call in LA earlier this year, looking for an actor to play one ‘Frank Barnes’, a WW2 veteran and member of the Studies and Observations Group, a black ops unit active during the Vietnam war.

Mass Effect 2

Mass Effect in my opinion was a great game, before it I wasn’t really a RPG guy, i found them fun to begin with, but just lost interest. This game changed that around and after completing it I moved on to GTA and other RPG game I had. So here is my thoughts on the sequel Mass Effect 2. Yes thats it, no added tag line that most games use to sell more copies by adding a mysterious few words which seem to drag people in. I haven’t finished the game yet so this isnt really a proper review more a rambling of things I like and stuff! You play as Sheppard again hooray! You are told that you die and get brought back to life by a seemingly ok corporation, but you soon get told that they are bad. Anyway, you get woken up before you should have done leaving scars on your face, probably trying to add to his heroic status. Below I am listing a few things different from the first game, oops I dont really remember much, but here goes.

You get the Normandy back and you are in command.
You get new people to follow you the only remaining ones are Garrus & Tali.
There is no real inventory, which some hardcore rpg fans will not like.
You can scan planets for resources and send probes to collect it.
There are still biotic powers.
The enemies seem to be more annoying and hard to kill.
The damage system drives me crazy the red scar tissue effect when taking damage is awful and looks comic like.
You can gain loyalty from the members of the team by doing personal missions for them.
You can still have a little romance!

So above are a few things that I can remember from the game, one of the main characters is played by Yvonne Strahovski who is also in Chuck on NBC which I thought was quite cool. The download content gives you some armour, a chance to find the old Normandy crash site and 2 more characters. This probably wont be enough to make you buy it so check these links out!

Too good to be true? Well no apparently, just in time for christmas eBay sellers have refurbished 360′s for sale. For under 50 pound the deal seems amazing, but getting your hands on the cables will probably be more difficult. I mean ‘Random 360 Cables for sale’, is quite hard to imagine. Anyway, get your hands on a budget box.

Cooperative on Modern Warfare 2 Disappointing?

With the release of a new Call of Duty game comes new hopes of new gameplay, new modes, maps and machine guns. Don’t get me wrong I am a big fan of the CoD games, but when it comes to co-op gameplay they always seem to let us down. I mainly play co-op I see gaming as something you do with friends either online or on the chair next to you. CoD 6 MW 2 does have a co-op mode, but its not the full campaign its consists of scenarios and segments of missions.

The way things are going I don’t expect to see a full co-op CoD game any time soon, it is like the digital camera mobile phones, they had the technology years ago, but each year they bring out an higher number of megapixels.

I have been pointing out all the bad things about the CoD games, but I am really just being picky. CoD6 is a great game and with the record sales (7 million in the first day) it has achieved I am sure the multiplayer will keep us entertained for a several months.

If you are like me and love co-op here is a breakdown of the features it has and the ones I wish it had.

- Co-op mini missions
- No co-op campaign
- No 2-player Xbox Live
- No widescreen co-op play (like the smaller screens of WaW)

Lockerz.com What’s that all about?

So What’s Lockerz.com? It’s a social network site where you answer questions, watch videos and play games and get points and you can cash them in for prizes like Xbox 360, PS3, DS, Xbox, PS2, playstation. Sounds perfect right? Now your expecting me to give you the catch, but I cant really tell you. So why am I making this post? Guitar Hero 5 : Perform with your Avatars

Activision have announced that in Guitar Hero 5 you will be able to play as your avatars in the band. GH5 is set to be released on September 1st. You will also be able to make them look like an ub3r guitar legend with the Create-A-Rocker mode. More clothes, costumes and instruments will be available increasing the customization aspect. You can play alongside the GH characters from the previous games like Judy Nails and Axel Steel and create an awesome band containing all your faves.

GH5 will have 85 songs from 83 artists, mentioned below.

Gears Of War II Free Multiplayer Weekend

Xbox Live Silver members that enjoy all but the best online features (multiplayer) will be offered a couple of days with full access. Epic is celebrating the release of the DLC pack Dark Corners, as well as All Fronts, both of which are now available on the Xbox Live Marketplace. Not only are they inviting in the Silver members, they’re holding a Double XP weekend too.

Gears of War 2 owners can pick up Dark Corners for 1200 Microsoft Points ($15), and All Fronts for 1600 Microsoft Poitns ($20). In the meantime, enjoy the time you have online while you can, Silver members. The free weekend will run until 11:59 am EST on August 3.
