Too good to be true? Well no apparently, just in time for christmas eBay sellers have refurbished 360’s for sale. For under 50 pound the deal seems amazing, but getting your hands on the cables will probably be more difficult. I mean ‘Random 360 Cables for sale’, is quite hard to imagine. Anyway, get your hands on a budget box.

Cooperative on Modern Warfare 2 Disappointing?

With the release of a new Call of Duty game comes new hopes of new gameplay, new modes, maps and machine guns. Don’t get me wrong I am a big fan of the CoD games, but when it comes to co-op gameplay they always seem to let us down. I mainly play co-op I see gaming as something you do with friends either online or on the chair next to you. CoD 6 MW 2 does have a co-op mode, but its not the full campaign its consists of scenarios and segments of missions.

The way things are going I don’t expect to see a full co-op CoD game any time soon, it is like the digital camera mobile phones, they had the technology years ago, but each year they bring out an higher number of megapixels.

I have been pointing out all the bad things about the CoD games, but I am really just being picky. CoD6 is a great game and with the record sales (7 million in the first day) it has achieved I am sure the multiplayer will keep us entertained for a several months.

If you are like me and love co-op here is a breakdown of the features it has and the ones I wish it had.

- Co-op mini missions
- No co-op campaign
- No 2-player Xbox Live
- No widescreen co-op play (like the smaller screens of WaW)

So What’s Lockerz.com? It’s a social network site where you answer questions, watch videos and play games and get points and you can cash them in for prizes like Xbox 360, PS3, DS, Xbox, PS2, playstation. Sounds perfect right? Now your expecting me to give you the catch, but I cant really tell you. So why am I making this post? Well I will be getting an invite (I hope) and will give you all the juicy details. It is not fully operational yet and I believe it works on a points system or ‘PTZ’ as they like to call it.

Guitar Hero 5 : Perform with your Avatars

Activision have announced that in Guitar Hero 5 you will be able to play as your avatars in the band. GH5 is set to be released on September 1st. You will also be able to make them look like an ub3r guitar legend with the Create-A-Rocker mode. More clothes, costumes and instruments will be available increasing the customization aspect. You can play alongside the GH characters from the previous games like Judy Nails and Axel Steel and create an awesome band containing all your faves.

GH5 will have 85 songs from 83 artists, mentioned below.

Gears Of War II Free Multiplayer Weekend

Xbox Live Silver members that enjoy all but the best online features (multiplayer) will be offered a couple of days with full access. Epic is celebrating the release of the DLC pack Dark Corners, as well as All Fronts, both of which are now available on the Xbox Live Marketplace. Not only are they inviting in the Silver members, they’re holding a Double XP weekend too.

Gears of War 2 owners can pick up Dark Corners for 1200 Microsoft Points ($15), and All Fronts for 1600 Microsoft Poitns ($20). In the meantime, enjoy the time you have online while you can, Silver members. The free weekend will run until 11:59 am EST on August 3.

Splosion Man Released

Splosion Man was released today as an Xbox Arcade game, it is available for 800 MS points.
What the developers say: Born of plasma and flame in an underground military lab, ‘Splosion Man can ’splode at will, propelling himself around a side-scrolling world and destroying everything in his way.
It has already been given 9/10 on IGN and looks like it will be the mini game of the summer. With 4 player co-op both online and offline it has all the makings of an Arcade great.

New Dashboard Update Coming in August

Xbox.com has confirmed an update to the 360 dashboard available on Aug. 11, tons of new features are included along with a new look. The most interesting addition is the Xbox Live Games on Demand Service, where users can download full games on to their hard drive. The first games to be available are BioShock, Mass Effect, Assassin’s Creed and LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga. The Avatar Marketplace is also another new feature added into the new update. Users will be able to get new items for their avatars, storefronts will appear with stuff from each game. As usual xbox will be charging. Avatar Awardables is a feature that awards you the player for completing an achievement with a new item of clothing for their avatar.

Microsoft will be joining the social networking scene by integrating Twitter, Facebook and Last.fm into the account system. Account holders will also be able to stream movies in 1080p, this is great for people with top internet providers, but another thing to miss out on for others. In North America, Netflix Party Support arrives, allowing multiple friends to watch streaming movies together.

More CoD World at War Maps

The download consists of three multiplayer maps entitled Battery, Revolution, and Breach respectively which were developed by Treyarch and partner Certain Affinity. The map pack is due for release in August later this year. For all you zombie fans another zombie map has been announced.

Xbox 360 Dashboard Advertising

Yes the ad man has invaded another product and is filling their boots at our expense. Adverts have been appearing in the 360 dashboard. The adverts may be game related, but when ‘Compare the Meerkat’ comes on we start to get worried. Advertising in games has been a hot topic over the last few years and as the video game industry grows to epic levels more of this is feared. The video below shows the ad.

So you can skip past the ad in seconds, but many people argue that they pay for a service and then recieve ads. Do they not realise they pay for cable tv filled with ads? Anyway like most things game related the majority will still continue and the fanboys will be outraged for a day and then continue.
