With the release of a new Call of Duty game comes new hopes of new gameplay, new modes, maps and machine guns. Don’t get me wrong I am a big fan of the CoD games, but when it comes to co-op gameplay they always seem to let us down. I mainly play co-op I see gaming as something you do with friends either online or on the chair next to you. CoD 6 MW 2 does have a co-op mode, but its not the full campaign its consists of scenarios and segments of missions.
The way things are going I don’t expect to see a full co-op CoD game any time soon, it is like the digital camera mobile phones, they had the technology years ago, but each year they bring out an higher number of megapixels.
I have been pointing out all the bad things about the CoD games, but I am really just being picky. CoD6 is a great game and with the record sales (7 million in the first day) it has achieved I am sure the multiplayer will keep us entertained for a several months.
If you are like me and love co-op here is a breakdown of the features it has and the ones I wish it had.
- Co-op mini missions
- No co-op campaign
- No 2-player Xbox Live
- No widescreen co-op play (like the smaller screens of WaW)

The game is amazing, but I agree the co-op in most 360 games suck except GoW maybe.

Yeah I was disappointed with the lack of co-op as well. Likewise, I always await news on the co-operativeness of a game. Me and my partner love CoD Modern Warfare. When the last one came out, we had an xbox each in the same room so we could play together. We then sold it, World at War, while it had co-op, it didn’t reward co-op play (no achievements for campaign unless playing solo). So with MW2, we’ve gone out and got another 360. Special ops is ok though, wish it were full screen though but, still, a small split screen on a 32″ TV, sitting next to my partner, is better than a 19″ crappy TV (ok it’s component but main TV is HDMI) across the room. We would have loved the campaign to be full co-op. My partner’s finished it now, so we’re doing the special ops and moving onto L4D2 cuz the co op play was good on that
